NOOR Hafizah Hassan became the first contestant for Malaysia’s inaugural online reality show, D’Graduate, when she submitted a one-minute self-introduction video clip to the programme’s website, www.dgraduate.com.my.
D’Graduate is a recently launched corporate challenge in search for a Star Graduate organised by Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) together with MyPath Sdn Bhd for its UUM undergraduates.
The final year accounting major was the first of many to upload a video clip sharing her greatest achievements and failures as well as personal goals.
“We have a surprise gift for Noor Hafizah for being the first to post her video clip. Surprise gifts will also be given to the 100th, 200th and 300th participants who post their videos,” said project manager Jason Gan, who is also a UUM economic graduate himself.
The competition organisers are aiming for a minimum of 300 participants for the first season, which will take place at the UUM campus in Sintok, Kedah, and end with a grand finale in Penang in August.
The challenge is aimed at promoting human capital development as well as to uncover latent talents among the 300 UUM final year students.
Selected participants will be put through challenging tasks which will expose them to the ways of corporate world, giving them a better insight to expectations of employers and ways to secure their dream jobs.
The challenge, which will be both recorded and streamed online, will have its winners decided by a panel of judges and online viewers through votes.
Season one of D’Graduate is organised in collaboration with Intrenasionale and MIRC Incubator.
Its official partners include Star Publications as the official media, Jaring Communications as the official communications technology partner, and Canon as the official entertainment partner while Red Spot Pictures is the official media production partner.
This challenge is also supported by Vistana Hotel Penang and Raine & Horne Penang.
